In the spirit of community and compassion, we bring to your attention a touching story that requires our collective support. Our Sedibeng Branch Manager, Kenny Mabunda, shares a heart-wrenching tale from Boitumelo in Midvaal, where a family of three young, abandoned children is facing the harsh reality of being denied their right to education by their abusive mother.
Despite the adversity they’ve endured, these children yearn to return to school, aspiring to be like others their age. Sadly, they were forcibly removed from school during their primary years, and they currently lack access to their social grants cards as their mother took off with them. The responsibility of caring for her younger siblings falls on the shoulders of the oldest sibling, a 20-year-old.
In response to this heart-wrenching situation, Kenny Mabunda, accompanied by Social Auxiliary Workers from Engaging Parents Organization, visited the children, providing essential groceries. Together, they are committed to making inquiries to find a school or an educational skills program for these deserving children.
How You Can Make a Difference: If you feel moved to assist these children, please reach out to Kenny Mabunda at +27 81 383 5556. Your support can make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Let us embody the African proverb: “It takes a village to raise a child.” Together, as a community, we can nurture hope and provide opportunities for a brighter future.
