October places a special focus on nutrition, food security and children’s health — all closely connected to Soul Food’s mission.

From National Nutrition Week (9–15 October) and Global Handwashing Day (15 October) to World Food Day (16 October) and Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (30 October), the month reminds us that fighting hunger means more than providing food.

More Than a Meal

Good nutrition supports a child’s growth, brain development, immunity and ability to learn. Safe food handling and good hygiene are equally important, as repeated illness can prevent children from getting the full nutritional benefit from the food they eat.

World Food Day | 16 October

The 2026 World Food Day theme, “Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow,” speaks directly to where Soul Food is heading.

Through NutriTrack, we are building on the meals we provide by monitoring children’s nutritional wellbeing and working towards understanding the measurable impact of our interventions.

From meals delivered → to children nourished → to impact measured.
