Soul Food is excited to officially welcome two new branches into our growing national family — Ottosdal in the North West and Cato Ridge in KwaZulu-Natal — as part of the School Nutrition Assistance Programme (SNAP).
These launches mark another important step in our mission of combating child malnutrition and stunting by ensuring that vulnerable children have access to nutritious meals and support within their communities.
Through these two new branches, Soul Food will now reach over 10,000 children across schools and Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres in the two regions. Communities, education stakeholders, ECD practitioners, and local leaders warmly welcomed the programme and expressed excitement about the positive impact it will bring to children and families.
The Ottosdal branch in the North West will support children across both ECD centres and primary schools, while the Cato Ridge branch strengthens Soul Food’s footprint in KwaZulu-Natal by extending nutritional support into more rural and peri-urban communities.
A special thank you goes to our partners, supporters, and sponsors who continue to believe in the vision of a South Africa where no child has to learn on an empty stomach. We also appreciate the Department of Basic Education stakeholders, community leaders, and local networks who joined hands with us during the launches and welcomed the initiative with such enthusiasm.
The newly appointed branch managers, together with the Soul Food team, are ready to begin this exciting journey of restoring hope and nourishing futures — one meal at a time.
Together, we are not just feeding children; we are investing in healthier communities and a brighter future for South Africa.
