Human Rights Day – Food Security is a Human Right

On this Human Rights Day, we are reminded of the words in Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states that “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food…”

At Soul Food, we believe that access to nutritious food is not just an act of charity—it is a fundamental human right. No one should go to bed hungry, and no child should be unable to learn because of an empty stomach. Yet, millions still face food insecurity daily.

Through the work we do—distributing meals, supporting early childhood development centres, and partnering with farmers and donors—we are not just feeding people; we are upholding human dignity and justice. Every meal served is a step toward ensuring that nutrition is a right, not a privilege.

On this important day, we recommit ourselves to fighting hunger, strengthening food security, and ensuring that no one is left behind. Thank you for standing with us in making this vision a reality!
