Rebaone Toto, Soul Food’s Manager in Kuruman encouraged the principal to appeal to the parents and local community for support.
That resulted in it being reopened – but the mud classroom is in a state of disrepair and the walls have been damaged by heavy rains.
Nevertheless, with the support of Soul Food and lots of encouragement from the community things are now turning around. The yard has been cleaned up and the kids are returning. The principal is to commended for her bravery and strength in such trying circumstances.
